My Brother's Wedding
Jordan's wedding took place in the summer of 2009. It was a grand old time music, dancing, family, and of course food and beverage. lol... The main reason I am writing this is because of my brothers wedding song or the first song as Mr. and Mrs. Zaputil whatever you would like to call it. The song is called "Then" and it is written by Brad Paisley. My thought was country song yes! I like this song because it really kind of maps out the lives of those two. I mean they dated on and off all the way through junior high and high school and basically grew up together and now she's PREGNANT and is due real soon. I don't just the way the song seems to flow just reminds me of them and makes me smile.

Colt Ford
Good ole Colt Ford is my response to the people who don’t think I like any type of rap. This is a sort of country-rap. Laughable right? I really think it’s pretty cool. When I’m at a party and they ask me to put on a rap song I’ll put on some Colt Ford. When people are drunk they can’t tell the difference they’ll start dancing and breaking it down or whatever people want to call it (cutting rug maybe?). They finally figure it out when John Montgomery starts singing a chorus halfway through the song. Some songs that I like would be “Ride Through the Country”, “Chicken & Biscuits”, and “No Trash In My Trailer”. When asked why he raps country Colt will say, “It’s because I have no singing talent what so ever.” I’ll put a song for you to listen to after this post. Peace out!

New Kid On the Block
One of my friends, Matt Meinert, told me about a new country singer that was country and a little rock at the same time. So I listened to the song and I loved it. His name is Brantley Gilbert and the song he sings is “Kick It In the Sticks”. I listen to this song quite a bit because it makes me relax and have fun. I know there are a lot of nah sayers out there who absolutely hate anything to do with country music, but don’t judge it until you hear this little piece of heaven for yourself. Actually I’m going to make it easier for you to do so.
Breaking Benjamin
I would like to talk about the band Breaking Benjamin today. I got this idea to write about them this morning while I was driving to school this morning. Their new cd came out a few months ago. The album is called “Dear Agony” which is also a song on the album. These guys have been one of my favorite bands for years ever since my brother told me about them when I was in junior high. The first song I ever heard from them was “So Cold” this song helped me get ready before football games or any other athletic event. They have four albums out: Saturate, We Are Not Alone, Phobia, and Dear Agony. Just saying if you guys want a little rock in your life maybe Breaking Benjamin will feed your hunger.

Music helps me get through each and every day. Depending upon the mood I am in is how I choose what genre I would like to listen to. When I am trying to relax or I am in a good mood I generally listen to some sort of country music. It just seems to lighten the daily grind of school and football. There is just something about the twang of country music that just makes me want to jump out of my chair and start dancing. When I am trying to fire myself up, focus, or if I am just for some reason pissed off I will listen to rock or heavy metal type music. This seems to get my blood pumping more than anything. Rock seems to help me study as well because I like to take breaks from time to time while I am studying. Rock helps me gather myself and refocus. This also goes for when I am preparing myself for a football game. Hope everyone enjoys Music To My Ears.
