Sources!

While researching for my project about how music effects personalities and therapy I found this great source and I wanted everyone to see it!
Rentfrow, Peter J., and Samuel D. Gosling. "The Do Re Mi's of Everyday Life: The Structure      and Personality Correlates of Music Preferences." Journal of Personality & Social    Psychology 84.6 (2003): 1236-1256. Academic Search Elite. EBSCO. Web. 8 Nov. 2010. This is a case study done dealing with individual differences and how music is used in  everyday life. They came up with four different music-preference dimensions: reflective   and complex, intense and rebellious, upbeat and conventional, and energetic and  rhythmic. These were determined from a wide variety of personality traits like openness,         political orientation, etc. This case study supports my thesis that personalities do not change from music the type of music people listen to.

Scott, Elizabeth. “Music and Your Body: How Music Affects Us and Why Music Therapy Promotes Health.” About.com. 1 November 2007. Web. 20 November 2010. This article spoke about the effects music can have on your body. It shows results from research that has been done to find the benefits music can have on your body by looking at brain waves, heart rate, and state of mind. It’s no surprise to the author of this article that music has shown to help the body stay healthy. This article supports my thesis that music is  beneficial for therapy and other bodily functions.

It talks about the history behind music therapy and shows evidence supporting the use of music therapy. There has yet to be any complications  or problems associated with music therapy. This article supports my thesis in saying that music therapy is beneficial during the recovery and treatment process.

“Music and Its Effects on Our Emotions: Can Music Really Change Your Mood?”            Associatedcontent.com. Yahoo! Contributor Network. 17 March 2008. Web. 21 November 2010. This article talks about whether or not music can change your mood. They believe that music does change the mood you are in depending upon the type of music. An example would be the music in a casino. It is always upbeat and fun so you will have a good time and spend more money. This article supports my thesis that music can change your mood, but not your personality.

Collingwood, Jane. “Preferred Music Style Is Tied to Personality.” Psychcentral.com. n.d. Web.   21 November 2010. This article talks more in depth about the actual types of music          people with certain personalities prefer to listen to. They said that people express and   identify themselves through their clothes and such so it’s no surprise we would do the   same with the music we listen to. Which is why people get so defensive when you talk      about their type of music because they take it on as a piece of them, so they take it as an          insult to them. This article supports my thesis of music does not change the personality of        someone rather that certain personalities choose certain music.

Academic Search Elite. EBSCO. Web. 28 Nov. 2010. This is a case study done           looking at the relationship between individual differences and specific uses of music.            They sent out a questionnaire asking how people used music during their lives every day.     Results showed that individual differences in personality may determine how we experience music. This article supports my thesis that the type of music we choose is           based off of our personality.

"Say You'll Haunt Me" - Official Video

Hey everyone I have another song from Billboard.com's top 25 countdown. This song is listed as the number one song for this week. I believe it has been on the top for quite a while now. Dylan Rosier, a fellow football player, was the one to tell me about this song. It's a great song and it gets me pumped up! Hope you enjoy. Peace out.

Porn Star Dancin' - My Darkest Days

Hey everyone I'm back with yet another top song from the top 25 list on Billboard.com. This song is called "Porn Star Dancin" by My Darkest Days. This is kind of a punk rock or alternative type of song. It is really upbeat and makes me want to dance. Which no one wants to see by the way. I realize a lot of girls will probably frown upon the lyrics to this song because it's basically saying that strippers can be a substitute for them. Anyway hopefully you enjoy! Peace out.

B.o.B - Airplanes (Feat. Hayley Williams of Paramore)

Hey everyone I'm back and have a little change of pace for those of you who think I only listen to rock and country. This song brings back some memories of Lake Pondarosa with my buddies from high school over the fouth of July weekend. We went there and had a great time we boated, tubed, and wakeboarded all weekend. One of my best friends played this song over the speakers on their speedboat. He pulled off a back flip on his wakeboard while this song was playing. So once again more great memories from all sorts of music. Enjoy peace out.

Jason Aldean - My Kinda Party

Hey everyone I'm back with another new country hit. This new song is called "My Kinda Party" and it is sang by Jason Aldean. This song really makes me happy because it is a more upbeat type of song. Also, we've played it before when my friend and I have been hanging out and having a good time by a bonfire or something so it also brings good memories. Hope everyone enjoys one of my new favorite songs. Peace out.

Michael Jackson - Thriller

Hey everyone due to the fact that I am still in the Halloween crave. I thought that I would give everyone one last chance to savor the Halloween spirit for one more quick minute until we have to wait another 365 days for the next Halloween. This is a classic by the way. Peace out.

Pray for You - Jaron and The Long Road to Love :: Official Video

Hey everyone this song is fairly old, but not old enough! This song just makes me laugh most of the time so I thought it might put a smile on somebody's day. Especially if you're mad at your girlfriend or boyfriend for any reason. Peace out.

Volbeat - Hallelujah Goat

Volbeat

Hey gang I'm back with a rock band that I was told about by one of football teammates. Dylan Rosier, a fellow linebacker, knows how much I love rock music just asked me one day, "Hey Zap have you heard of this band Volbeat?". Of course I had not and he had me listen to this song called "Hallelujah Goat". My first thought of this band was how unique the singer's voice is it is something I have never heard before. Now that I have listened to Volbeat a little more I have realized that I like more of their songs. I'll be posting a youtube video of the song for you to listen if you would like. Peace out.
